Guided tours of the historic Old Arnold Estate farmhouse are planned once the property is repaired — here’s what to expect.
The Old Arnold Estate, internationally recognized today as The Conjuring House, is the real farmhouse that inspired the movie The Conjuring and one of America’s most famous historic farmhouses.
The property is not currently open for public tours while restoration work is underway. Guided tours are planned once that work is complete — see our Preservation Mission page for restoration updates, or contact us to be notified when tours open. The tour types and policies below reflect our current plans for when visits resume.

Planned Tour Options
Evening Property & Investigation Tour
An after-dark version of the history tour that also covers the folklore associated with the property, including a supervised session with standard investigation equipment in select rooms.
Extended & Overnight Visits
Planned as limited extended-hours access for small groups, by advance arrangement only, once tours open. Availability, pricing, and requirements will be confirmed directly with our team — see Contact for updates.
What Visitors Will See
What to Expect Once Tours Open
Tours will be led by staff familiar with the property’s history and kept to small group sizes so everyone can hear and move through the house comfortably. Tours are planned to run 60–90 minutes and cover both the interior of the farmhouse and portions of the surrounding grounds, weather permitting.
Because this is a working historic property and not a staged attraction, tours will be conducted with respect for the house’s age and condition. We’ll ask guests to follow staff instructions, stay within marked areas, and treat the property as they would any historic home.
Planned Booking, Policies & Seasonal Events

- Group size: Tours will be kept small to protect the property and preserve the experience for every guest.
- Seasonal programs: Extended tour hours and special programming are being planned for the fall once tours open; contact us for updates.
- Photography: Personal photography is expected to be generally permitted once tours open; commercial and press photography inquiries can be arranged in advance via our Media page.
- Accessibility: As a historic 18th-century structure, the house has uneven floors, steps, and low doorways. See our FAQ for accessibility details.

Comfortable, sturdy footwear will be recommended, since the farmhouse has uneven original flooring and the grounds are unpaved in places. Dress for the weather, as portions of the tour will take place outdoors.
